Deirdre Bonner

Deirdre Bonner hails from Dungloe in County Donegal but now lives in the picturesque village of Ardara. She first began singing when she was a very small child and then mainly sang in the Irish Language. When she was 12 years old she won the Joe Heeney Cup for Sean-nós singing at the “Oireachtas”. Deirdre has toured with the Chieftains, Nanci Griffith and Hal Ketchum. Over the past few years Deirdre has taken part in concerts with “Cherish the Ladies”. Deirdre’s style leans towards the traditional/folk scene. Deirdre has appeared on Television singing on stage at the Blackstaff Sessions, Blás Cheoil and Opry an Iúir. She released her debut album which was called “Atlantic Bridges.”
