SUSAN MCCANN from County Down for over three decades has held the crown as Ireland’s First Lady of Country Music. Some of the highlights of her career are singing for world statesman, singing in French, performing in South Africa, Russia, Switzerland, The United States, England and of course her beloved Emerald Isle. She has performed for President Bush, rubbed shoulders with Tammy Wynette, Crystal Gayle and Emily Harris and she has performed in top venues from Carnegie Hall to the infamous Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Over the course of her impressive career, Susan has won many awards including the European Gold Star from Holland, Twice voted Top International Female Vocalist from the International Country and Western Music Association in Texas, Top International Country Vocalist Award from St. Petersburg, Russia, Top Irish Female Country Singer Award from Ireland and recently chosen for Northern Irelands Lifetime Achievement Award. She hosts a television program for Irish TV along with Malachi Cush called Ireland’s Country.
